August was another stellar month for Image Comics and as summer begins to wind down, comic shops are as hot as ever serving up killer debuts, massive cliffhangers and exciting collection releases. The Energon Universe continues to rule the roost and celebrated the 40th anniversary of Transformers in style. The Robots in Disguise continue to roll out surprise after surprise, and Transformers # 11 (Daniel Warren Johnson & Jorge Corona) was no different. Fans also ate up the launch of Universal Monsters: Frankenstein #1 (Michael Walsh & Toni Marie Griffen) which offered a new take on the horror classic. Another massive launch coming out of the month was Kieron Gillen & Caspar Wijngaard’s The Power Fantasy which sold out immediately (twice!) and is one of the best reviewed books of the year.
